CPSA Shotgun Skills Course Monday 3rd June

The CPSA are the national governing body for Clay Target shooting and this one day CPSA shotgun skills course is designed for clay and game shooters.  The course will teach you the skills, knowledge and understanding, so that you can use a shotgun confidently and most importantly safely.  An excellent course providing the foundations to progress from beginner to proficient, and for future involvement in shotgun shooting.

It can be daunting and overwhelming to get started in clay or game shooting, especially if you are not connected with anyone who is already taking part. This one day shotgun skills course has been designed to provide a comprehensive insight into shooting, with participants receiving on successful completion, a CPSA badge, certificate and training record book.

The perfect course if you are thinking of applying for a shotgun licence. 

The Police often ask for proof of shooting lessons or attendance on a course before issuing a shotgun licence. The course is designed to fulfil this criteria and is underwritten by the National Governing Body (the CPSA).

Suitable for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

The shotgun skills course is suitable for anyone learning Clay Target Shooting as their chosen skill for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme.

What's Included?

All equipment is provided including a Gun, 50 Clays and Cartridges, Eye & Ear Protection, Bisley Shooting Ground Cap, refreshments and a light lunch.

Arrive at the Clubhouse 9.00 - 9.30am for complimentary Tea & Coffee

The Shotgun Skills Course runs from 9.30am - 4.30pm and includes Refreshments and a light Lunch

An Introduction to Shotgun shooting

Shotgun safety for both Clay and Game Shooting

Personal protective equipment & shooting accessories

Basic gun handling skills

Eye Dominance

Introduction to the various "shooting methods"

12.30pm - 1.30pm break for a light lunch which is included

Gun Fit and master Eye Check

Gun Mount and Stance

Tuition from your Instructor will include how to hit a moving target using the CPSA Method.

What happens next?

On successful completion of the course we recommend the next step is to have approximately 6 Lessons, some people may need a few more.

From there, you will move to our Instructor Practice sessions where you will continue to develop, but in a much more challenging way.
