Office Administrator and Receptionist

Salary: From £20,000 depending on experience
Overview of the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the office team at Bisley Shooting Ground, working within a small team of 5 people. We are looking for an individual with excellent customer service skills. You will need to be enthusiastic and engaging when dealing with customers face to face and over the phone and able to promote the products and services of the shooting ground.

Also required is a high level of attention to detail to enable support to the Reception, Events and Office Manager in general everyday office administration. Therefore this role requires the right candidate to be adaptive and receptive to change at a moments notice, due to the nature of a busy Events schedule.

A confident, welcoming and friendly nature are essential for this position.

This is a full time role and includes the requirement to work 1 day at a weekend. However we will consider a job share. To be considered for a job share you will be required to work a full day 8.30am - 5.30pm with the requirement to also be available to work 1 day at a weekend, either Saturday or Sunday.

Your primary focus will be:
  • Answering phone calls and providing cover and assistance on Reception including taking card and cash payments.
  • Making confirmed bookings into the online diary system.
  • Replying to customers emails that come into the office.
  • Be confident in explaining the various products and Membership packages, and promoting on every customer interaction to grow the business.
  • Taking orders and issuing Gift Vouchers.
  • Assisting when needed on the Events. Such as welcome registration, serving Tea and Coffee outdoors on the shooting ground, serving drinks at the Bar.
  • Ensuring the Clubroom and associated areas are maintained to a high level of tidiness and cleanliness throughout the day.
  • Ordering and maintaining sufficient stock off office stationery supplies.
  • General office support to Office, Reception and Events Manager.

Full time role of 40 hours per week to include 1 day at a weekend, but we will also consider a part-time job share.

Weekend Receptionist


Position 1 - Head Receptionist - Up to £12 per hour

Position 2 - Receptionist - £10.50 per hour

(Both figures includes the mandated holiday pay)

Overview of the role:

We have a couple of opportunities to join the weekend Reception team. Please note: Candidates must be over 18 years old and with previous office experience

Position 1: Head Receptionist - To work 8.30am-5.30pm every weekend on a Saturday and Sunday.

Position 2: Receptionist - To be included in the weekend rota working approximately 6 Saturdays/Sundays per month, some full days and some half days.

Both positions would also be expected to work the Bank Holidays (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day) where possible.

Candidates must be engaging and energetic, and able to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Reception desk and Clubroom. The right candidates must have excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to deal with and resolve customer or business issues that may arise over the course of the weekend.

You will be working in a busy environment, so the ability to process information quickly, in a calm and controlled manner at all times, along with a “can do/ hands on” approach is essential.

The role requires:
  • A high level of customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level off accuracy, as dealing with online diary bookings and online invoice payments forms a large part of the role
  • Excellent communication in person, over the phone and in writing via email
  • Dealing with cash and card payments
  • The Clubroom and associated areas to be maintained to a high level of tidiness and cleanliness throughout the day
  • To be confident in explaining the various products and packages, and making confirmed bookings into an online diary system
