Richard has been an instructor at Bisley Shooting Ground since 2023. Qualifying as a shotgun coach with the BASC in 2015-16 he has supported BASC events and a range of private shooting grounds since. His main working career has principally involved training and development in a number of large companies.
Richard started clay shooting after retirement from the Territorial Army in 2010, where he had served for 30 years, and really enjoyed learning the new skills of clay and game shooting. He has also qualified as an airgun instructor, shotgun safety officer and as a loader.
Richard is a member of a small game shoot near Winchester and sits on the committee of Basingstoke Air Rifle and Pistol club introducing and training new members.
Richard enjoys history, geography, and the outdoors as well working with a wide range of people. He has recently completed a paper on the Lee Enfield Story. In 2005 he was made a Freeman of the City of London.
