Gary has been involved in shooting for over 30 years with a particular passion for game shooting. He enjoys regular driven shooting as part of a syndicate as well as walked up shooting with his dogs on the moors of Northumberland to the hills of the South Downs.
He is a regular clay shot, an APSI qualified shooting instructor and holds LANTRA’s loaders certificate. When not carrying a shotgun Gary can be found working his spaniels in the beating line.
His first profession was in the Insurance industry before full time focus on his passion since childhood for short-track speed skating which ultimately led to him qualifying as a member of the Great Britain Short Track squad. More recently he went on to win the World Masters Short Track Championship in 2017.
Gary is also a qualified fitness coach and sports therapist and brings many of his learnings from these experiences to his approach to shooting instruction which could be described as 'find the good and build on it, while providing achievable challenge in a fun environment.’
Gary is married with a tribe of grandchildren and is an enthusiastic skier, motorbike rider as well as a keen on and off-road cyclist.
